M-Law + the Prophets of Jazz have been performing in the Richmond area since earlier this year.  The project is the brainchild of Mary Lawrence Hicks, a graduate of VCU’s Jazz Performance program.  The band plays an array of music such as Jazz, R&B, and neo-soul, as well as originals fitting into this realm.  Since their inception, the band has performed at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Hippodrome, just to name a few.  The Prophets are looking to record a new album within the next few months as well.

We are available to play at any venue, including but not limited to bars, clubs, private parties, office parties, weddings, churches, special events, and much more.  Our relaxing sounds are appropriate for a wide variety of audiences and age groups and we claim to be both educational and entertaining.  Please contact us for more information.
